John is a qualified and registered Osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council. He is also a Sports & Remedial therapist, Acupuncturist and a lecturer in Sports Medicine/Athletic Performance for the University of Oxford. To enhance his lecturing, John travels the country and delivers specific courses in manipulative/mobilisation techniques, advanced joint assessment and soft tissue techniques. John specialises in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sports related injuries for the University of Oxford prestigious sports teams (and enjoys being accredited as the Osteopath to the Oxford University Boat Club Mens heavyweight rowing team). This allows John to also utilise his Osteopathic training with Sports therapy knowledge to enhance all patients wellbeing. John has publicly presented for many sports related organisations on manual therapy related topics and has also written several articles on Musculo-skeletal dysfunction for publications such as The Federation of Holistic Therapy and the Sports Injury Bulletin. As well as lecturing for many Universities, John has implemented specific therapy related training courses which offer participants continuous professional development (CPD), therefore maintaining accreditation as well as updating participants on the latest techniques/standards for both qualified and experienced manual therapists. Johns background prior to becoming an Osteopath was driven by his success as a Physical training instructor in the British Army for many years. On route to qualifying as an Osteopath, John has added to his knowledge and medical understanding by also qualifying in areas such as Personal Fitness training, Reflexology and Nutrition to name but a few. In his spare time John enjoys rock-climbing, caving and mountaineering in which he participates on a regular basis. |

Denise Thomas is a registered Sports Therapist and Sports/Remedial Massage Therapist and is a member of The Society of Sports Therapists and The Society of Health, Fitness and Sports Therapists. Denise is also a Holistic Therapist registered at Fellow Status, with the Federation of Holistic Therapists belonging to various health care councils under the professional umbrella of FHT. Denise qualified as a Massage Therapist in 2001, and set up her own clinic while continuing her studies in Holistic Therapies, Sports Massage and Sports Therapy. During this time Denise became nationally renowned as a therapist after diagnosing cancer in a patient through Reflexology subsequently saving his life, which resulted in National Press coverage, National News, Health & Therapy magazines and live radio discussions, with many appearances on television. Edward is a new member to the Peak Sporting Performance team. He is a nationally certified massage therapist from the U.S, where he received his training in Sedona Arizona which included several forms of integrated body work. Additionally, Edward has studied supplemental forms of athletic remedies, including active isolated stretching. Edward’s goals in the field of body work include enhancing the overall function of the body, relieving tension, and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal. He is also a passionate runner and has competed in several marathons. Edward has been studying the body for many years and plans to continue learning new forms of treatment to better assist his patients. |

Jon is a graduate from the University of Brighton with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy. A member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). Jon is trained in the three core areas of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal, Neurological and Respiratory) across a number of Inpatient and Outpatient settings, since graduating Jon has chosen to focus mainly on the Musculoskeletal side of Physiotherapy predominantly within the sporting arena. He has undertaken a number of courses including Level 1 in the Muligan Concept, 4 day Advanced Therapy course, Neck and Shoulder Master Classes. Jon is also qualified in pitch side first aid (ITC). Jon has a keen interest in sports and a member of Balmoral and Ballater golf clubs, previously played as a Winger for the Reading Abbey RFC (Colts). Jon has completed the Reading Half Marathon twice raising £230 for Cancer Research U.K. |
